Le Manoir bridge

This project was a sub-contract job for the Green Oak Carpentry Company based in Hampshire.

For all work in that surrounding area please contact GOCC.

The bridge can be found in the mushroom valley area of the impressive gardens of Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons where you can find delicious edible fungi, including shiitake, maitake and parasol, in an earthy ravine. The valley is also lined with silver birch and oak. The mushrooms are cultivated for the restaurant’s menu.

I produced the construction drawings under the guidance of talented Andrew Holloway and fabricated the bridge in our workshop in Cornwall. We erected the bridge using our own spider crane.

It’s not a true bridge as it’s resting on a shipping container. The container is where the mushrooms are stored for the restaurant and the bridge is to hide the container while creating a stunning structure to cross to other side.
